Ledgemere Country News: Winter 2026

January 15, 2026 · Community News

Welcome to the winter edition of Ledgemere Country News. Here's what's happening around the community.

Annual meeting

The next annual meeting is scheduled for May 19. Watch your email and the portal for details.

Winter safety: ice dams and icicles

Please don't try to handle icicles on your unit. Breaking icicles can damage the new roof shingles. If you have a concern, please open a FirstService ticket on the portal.

What is an ice dam? Heat escaping from your attic, through poor insulation or ventilation, melts the snow on the roof. The meltwater runs down to the colder roof edge, refreezes at the eaves, and then backs up under your shingles. Large icicles along your roofline aren't just a winter detail. They can be the start of an ice dam.

Be on the lookout when: temperatures are below freezing, there's heavy snow on the roof, and lots of icicles are hanging from the eaves and gutters.

Please call Mass Save to have your attic insulation checked to help prevent ice dams.

Town roads and the parking ban

Guest parking

Please review the signs that explain the difference between visitor and overflow parking. Visitor parking is for non-residents. Overflow parking is for residents and guests, temporarily, for up to one week, when visitor spaces and your own spaces are full. Remember to move cars out of overflow and visitor spaces for plowing. School bus drop-offs

When dropping off your children at the bus stop, as a courtesy to traffic, please park on one side of the street. Parking on both sides creates a hazard for commuting traffic.

Stay up to date

The best way to stay up to date on what's happening at Ledgemere is to opt in to emails on the Resident Portal.

Update your information

If you're new to Ledgemere, please fill out the census form on the portal. It includes your vehicle details, so we can get in touch with you during winter storms. Long-term residents, please make sure we have your current information. We use the census to communicate with both unit owners and renters as needed.

Bulk items and mattresses

People, who may or may not be residents, have been dumping mattresses in the woods. Please take mattresses to the free monthly drop-off at the Ashland DPW instead. Bulk item info »

Quiet hours

A reminder that our quiet hours start at 11 PM every day. We share walls, so using headphones whenever you can is a kindness to your neighbors. The walls are thin. Thank you!

Roofing project

The next phase of the roofing project is on target. Tree removal to prepare for the roof work is well underway.

Landscaping

The association has ended its contract with Riverside. After a productive meeting with Village Green, they've been awarded the Ledgemere landscaping contract for 2026.

Condo rules

The Board is continuing to update the condo rules for the betterment of the community.

Preventive maintenance

Please remember to schedule routine plumbing checks for items such as hot water heaters, toilets and faucets. We've recently had several insurance claims, which can affect our master policy renewal. This preventive maintenance is at the owner's expense, and we highly recommend it for everyone's benefit.

Please consider joining the Board

The Board meets on the third Wednesday of the month, for three or more hours. Owners interested in serving can apply as part of the annual meeting process. Watch for the annual meeting notice for details.

Safety concerns

If you see a safety issue or concern at Ledgemere, please log a ticket on the portal or call 617-221-1000.

Thank you to our Ledgemere community and the volunteer Ledgemere Board for making this a great place to live.
